Fitting Fitness into Your Busy Schedule

Are you finding it hard to keep to your fitness goals? Work keep getting in the way? Does the kid’s schedule seem to always take priority? It is easy to put our health on the back burner, while finding time to fit it in can be more difficult. Humans have found lots of ways to make life easier, which in turn, reduces our calorie expenditure. Sneaking in energy expenditure throughout the day can take some of the hardship out of the equation.

To begin with, do you take public transportation to work? If you drive, try parking further away, or even in a different lot. Once your at the office, take the stairs as often as possible throughout the day. Need to contact a co-worker? Walk to discuss with them instead of email.

Is there a meeting room which is empty during lunch? Use it for an lunch time exercise session before you eat your lunch. You can encourage your coworkers to join you for support and motivation. You can also walk outside when the weather permits.

Think “energy break” instead of coffee break. Sneak in a walk or quick stair climb during your break time. You will take in less calories while burning some. Now that’s a double whammy!

Has this sparked some interest or motivation? Jump on it now! Don’t wait. Get up and pace your office. Do not make any more excuses on why you don’t have time to fit exercise into your day. Challenge yourself to find ways to fit it in!
